The Royal Cornwall Show 6th, 7th & 8th June 2013

A family affair!

There’s something for every member of the family at the Royal Cornwall Show.

It’s the county’s biggest annual event and is brim-full of exhibits and activities which offer so much in the way of entertainment, competition, information, shopping and all that’s best in food and farming.

It's a time and place to meet old friends, conduct business, enjoy Corwnall in all its glory and to welcome thousands of visitors from outside our county.

In its 220th year and the aim is to keep raising the standard. It's good for agriculture, good for tourism, good for the economy, the environment and good for the soul!

This is a top agricultural show which attracts increasing numbers of animals, entered into the hundreds of classes which are refined each year. And year on year and people travel from further and further afield in the hope of coming away with an award.

Dog and goat sections; rare breed classes. A top flower show and thriving countryside area. Rabbits, cage birds, cavies - even bees get noticed here!

We support and promote Cornish-grown and Cornish-produced food both in the trade section and in our own cafes and restaurants.

Main ring entertainment is mounted on a grand scale and the traditional steam fair is a colourful extravaganza; there are stages and avenues alive with music, song and dance.

You can come to the Royal Cornwall Show with a single-minded ambition to buy a tractor or a car. Here is where you will see them all on display.

Saltash Regatta is one of the most colourful events held in Cornwall and certainly for South East Cornwall is the most popular annual Regatta. Gig racing, hosted by Saltash based Caradon Pilot Gig Club, is run to the highest standard and because of its success in previous years, this year will be held over both days.

But Saltash Regatta is not just about water sports, there is so much more ashore to keep everyone in the family happy.

There are myriad bands of all types, street entertainers and children’s rides and entertainment. Of course there is also a wide range of market stalls and food vendors to suit all tastes and budgets, and quirky and interesting craft stalls.

The Regatta continues to be run by volunteers and not for profit. We pride ourselves on putting on a fantastic two day event with great family appeal and a relaxed atmosphere. The Regatta remains FREE to visit and all our live entertainment is also FREE.

This years theme is pirate based, and we would love everyone to come  in some sort of pirate related dress even the adults! 

Boconnoc Steam Fair 19,20 & 21 July

The Boconnoc Steam Fair, held at Boconnoc Estate near Liskeard, is one of the best steam rallies in Cornwall. Its well worth a visit to this exciting show.  Plan your holiday to Cornwall to coincide with this steam fair. Just remember it's a great day out and we would advise making a day of it. It's not all about steam remember, other displays are at the event such as classic cars, local crafts marquee, vintage tractors and so much more.
